Company

This group is our performance company and has been created for aspiring dancers, who possibly want a career in dance and/or want to take their dancing to a high standard.

It supports, nurtures, signposts and pushes dancers to be the best dancers they can be and gain as many opportunities to perform and create as possible. This group is for dancers who want to work hard through vigorous training, choreographic intensives and perform throughout the year locally and regionally.

To audition for this company you must be an enthusiastic, open minded and passionate dancer, committed to the company and its workshops and performances. You will love a challenge and be disciplined in your approach to learning. You must have at least 1 year of experience in contemporary dance. Ballet training definitely helps, but is not required.

An audition is held annually in September.

To register for the audition, fill out the audition registration form, attach your photo and press send. You will then get a confirmation of your place for the next audition.

AUDITION INFORMATION

It’s that time of year again! We are auditioning!
Do you feel passionate about dance? Are you considering dance for your future? Ready to take your training to the next level?

We will be looking for passionate, hardworking and talented individuals to form our 2027/2028 cohort!

Requirements:

14-19 years old with 1 years previous experience in contemporary, ballet or street.

An openness to new experiences is a key part of what we look for in our company members so if you’re ready to delve into new and exciting dance opportunities, come and see what we are all about!

Company members must be able to commit to weekly sessions plus performance dates and intensives.

Audition Details:

Date: To be confirmed

Cost: £15.00 - Payment will be taken within the application form.

Part 1 - The Registration Form

On the registration form we ask questions about why you want to be in the company and what your past experience is.
This is the first impression we will get of you. We will read through these before the audition to get an insight into who is attending.
You will receive a confirmation email letting you know when your place has been booked. Your place is only confirmed once payment has been made.

Part 2 - The Audition Itself

The audition itself will consist of a warm up, a contemporary technique class, a creative session and a cool down.

The live audition process will give dancers an insight into what it is like to be a BUDC company member and our style of training.

We will end with a Question and Answer session

Part 3 - Results

A follow up phone call will be made to all auditionees letting them know if they have been successful or not within 5 days of the audition.
If you are successful you will then be sent all the term details and payment information. If you have any questions before the audition, please don’t hesitate to ask.
